The Premier League weekend continues on Saturday but with the disruption to the schedule caused by the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II on Monday, we have just three matches left to get stuck into on a truncated day of action.
There might only be three matches on Saturday but we still get our TV fix in two of them and the other one will have all the usual ways of starting up to date with everything as is the case on a regular Saturday.
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Manchester City (12.30pm – BT Sport 1)
The opening game of Saturday sees struggling Wolverhampton Wanderers playing host to the team many expect to be crowned champions again come the end of the season in Manchester City at a sombre Molineux.
Wolves finally picked up a first win a couple of weeks ago so they could probably have done without having last week called off, although they were due to be away to Liverpool so maybe it wasn’t a bad thing. That win was only against Southampton and that form wasn’t exactly franked on Friday night. They now take on a City side who are unbeaten this season and have dropped just four points in their six matches, scoring 20 goals in the process. City matches have been full of goals but Wolves games have been the opposite with just seven of them in six games. That makes the over/under a tough one to call and as you would imagine the City handicaps aren’t much more attractive so this is an easy one to leave alone.

Newcastle United vs AFC Bournemouth (15.00)
The match away from the TV cameras in the UK on Saturday comes from St James’ Park where Newcastle United go after their first win since the opening week of the season when they entertain AFC Bournemouth who will be making the insanely long trip up north.
Newcastle started this season in great form winning their opening match against Nottingham Forest but they haven’t won since then, although a late defeat at Liverpool is their only loss on the season. That means they have drawn four games. One of those was against Manchester City but the other three draws are disappointing ones. Bournemouth have a couple of wins on the season, the latest being a miraculous come-from-behind win at Nottingham Forest. They are still looking for a new manager so you wonder if they will show any consistency. Newcastle should win this with the personnel they have but they look plenty short enough for a team with one win in six. I’ll leave this alone too.
Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City (17.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The final match of the day sees Tottenham Hotspur looking to continue their fine start to the campaign when they play host to the bottom side in the division in Leicester City in a game the Foxes really could do with winning.
Spurs go into this match in third place in the table and unbeaten in their six matches. If Manchester City don’t win in the early game then Tottenham will end the day on top of the table if they win here. Leicester drew their opening match of the season and then since then it has all gone wrong. They have lost all five matches and were at their worst defensively last time out when they were beaten 5-2 by Brighton and Hove Albion. The Foxes really needed the two weeks they have had since then to take stock of what is going wrong, work hard on things and get ready to effectively restart their season. We did see in that defeat to Brighton that Leicester can at least pose a threat at the top end of the pitch but defensively they look an absolute mess and in terms of personnel there isn’t much Brendan Rodgers can do to change that. With Tottenham having a vibrant attack this could get messy for the visitors pretty quickly and in a fixture which is historically good for goals I’m expecting more than three of them in this one.
