The second Premier League weekend continues over the course of three kick off times on Saturday as the top flight in English football begins to fire up after a very entertaining first set of games last weekend.
As is often the case on a Saturday we have a couple of TV games to enjoy in the UK although the timings of them are slightly different. Everyone will be well aware of where to keep up with the other games by now.
3pm Matches
We actually begin the day with the 3pm games of which there are just the three after the game between Luton Town and Burnley was postponed a while ago. The biggest side on show in these games are Liverpool. They open up their home campaign against Bournemouth who they beat 9-0 at Anfield last season. Bournemouth started with a 1-1 draw at home to West Ham last week and will be out to make a much better display of themselves than they were able to in this fixture last term.
Brighton and Hove Albion are the other team who have European football to enjoy this term who play in the traditional slot. They make the trip to Molineux to take on a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who might still be wondering how they were unable to beat Manchester United on Monday night. Two London sides meet in the other 3pm match on Saturday when Fulham will look to build on their win over Everton last week when they welcome Brentford to Craven Cottage.

TV Matches
That leaves us with two matches for the television which come in the later kick off and then the evening one. The first of the TV games sends us to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the first time this season as Tottenham play their first home match without Harry Kane when they play host to Manchester United. Both teams avoided defeat in their season opener last week but I think it is fair to suggest there is more to come from both sides.
When that one is done the attention will turn to the Etihad Stadium as the new UEFA Super Cup winners Manchester City play their first home match of the season. The Citizens eased past Burnley in their season opener last weekend and now host a Newcastle United who laid down their intentions for an eagerly anticipated campaign when they took Aston Villa to the cleaners a week ago. Newcastle gave as good as they got against City last term and will be out to do at least that here.
Betting
I’ll go with the one bet over the course of the day with it coming in the first of those TV matches where I don’t think I am rewriting the bounds of reality to expect to see a number of goals when Tottenham Hotspur take on Manchester United. United might have kept a clean sheet last week but even they might not know how that happened to be the case. Tottenham still looked like a work in progress defensively at Brentford and that is if we are being kind to them.
I am very surprised with the defences of these two clubs that we can get a decent price on a 3 goal line. Tottenham might be a bit of a mess defensively, as they have been for way too long now, but Ange Postecoglou will have his side ready going forward while United have plenty of quality on their side when it comes to going forward. I expect this to be quite an open and exciting game and I would be very surprised if there are not at least three goals here to get us our money back, and a fourth to win the bet.
