Premier League 2023-24 – Sunday 5th November Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Premier League continues with another Super Sunday double header which sees two of the better teams in the competition going away to two sides who are expected to be towards the lower end of the table this term.

As always with a Sunday, we have both of the matches live on TV for us in the UK to enjoy so as the nights begin to draw in there is no reason not to sit in the warm and enjoy what should be entertaining games.

Nottingham Forest vs Aston Villa (14.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

The opening match of the day comes from the City Ground where Nottingham Forest will look to maintain their unbeaten home record when Unai Emery and his impressive Aston Villa side head from west to the east of the midlands.

This has been a pretty slow start to the season for Nottingham Forest, one which has been masked a little because they were able to win at Chelsea and because the promoted trio are having a tough time of it but this is a Forest side who have played all three promoted teams at home this term and a Brentford side who were struggling at the time and only have six points to show for their efforts. They have 10 points in total but to the naked eye they look weaker than last season. An injury to Taiwo Awoniyi might account for much of that and he is expected to be involved in this one which should give them a bit of a boost. Even so, I like Villa here. For all Forest might or might not offer offensively I expect that Villa will be able to get at them with their own attacking class. Villa went into the weekend as the top scorers in the Premier League and with every team to have gone to the City Ground this season having scored a goal, including Luton who scored twice, I think Villa can find the net at least twice in this one.

Luton Town vs Liverpool (16.30 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)

The second match of the afternoon is the sort of game that the fans of the home side would have thought would only ever be a cup match given where they have been as Luton Town welcome Liverpool to Kenilworth Road.

While Luton were touring the lower leagues, Liverpool were twice winning the Champions League but they meet in Bedfordshire in a league game on Sunday and that alone will ensure a great atmosphere. Luton have already hosted the leaders going into the weekend in Tottenham at Kenilworth Road this season and came out competitive in a 1-0 defeat albeit they had to ride their luck a little in the early stages and it will be interesting to see what they can offer the big stars of Liverpool in terms of a challenge. The one thing we know for sure is the Hatters will do everything they can to be competitive and use all of their home comforts to their advantage. Since the opening two games of the season, Luton have only lost by more than a goal once in eight games. This is a huge challenge though and it would be a surprise were Liverpool not to win the game but you’re not going to get rich backing them so you really need to go to the side markets to get involved in this one and the best of those is for Issa Kabore to concede two or more fouls. He is likely to be a direct opponent for Diogo Jota who is no stranger to being fouled and the young Manchester City loanee can be a bit clumsy defensively and get the wrong side of his man. He is going to be tested to the limit and comes into this match off the back of an outing against Aston Villa where he conceded three fouls. With the amount of danger Liverpool possess the Burkino Faso international looks good for a couple of fouls.
