This weekend’s Premier League fixtures are truncated by the involvement in the FA Cup by a number of sides. That leaves us with just three matches being played on Saturday. It is a rarity this week in that none of the Saturday games are live on TV in the UK but odds are still available so we can still bet.
Saturday has all the makings of a big day at the bottom of the table with three of the bottom seven in action and for each of those time is running out to get the points required to lead them to safety.
Bournemouth vs West Ham
One of those sides in the bottom seven host West Ham when Bournemouth look for three valuable points in their quest for survival. Bournemouth head into the match winless in eight matches and sliding down the table while West Ham are without a win in three but their latest outing was against Chelsea who are beating most sides in their path at the minute.
Everton vs West Brom
If seventh place yields European football this season this is a battle for just that. West Brom can move to within a point of Everton with a win here while Everton can all but end any battle with a win of their own. Both sides ended undefeated runs last time out and will be looking to bounce back here.
Hull City vs Swansea
The biggest match of the day comes from the KC Stadium when the second bottom side Hull City host a Swansea team who have pulled away from immediate danger but who can still get sucked back in. Paul Clement looks to have sorted Swansea out and a win here will move them eight points clear of the drop. Hull will move to within a point of safety should they win.
Betting
There is only one match I’m interested in here and it is the one at the Vitality Stadium where I’m surprised West Ham aren’t the favourites to win the match. Bournemouth look in complete freefall right now and while they got a decent result at Old Trafford last week they will now be without Tyrone Mings and Andrew Surman which weakens them significantly.
In contrast West Ham get Michail Antonio back which is a huge boost while Robert Snodgrass and Andy Carroll are expected to be fit too. Since they came out of their early season slump West Ham have lost four matches but three of them have been to sides in the top six so it usually takes a good side to beat them. I’m not convinced Bournemouth are that and the amount of goals the Cherries are shipping I’ve got to be with West Ham here especially on a draw no bet line.
