Premier League – Saturday 24th September Matches Betting Preview

There is a busy day of Premier League action on Saturday with eight matches in the division as events at the top and the bottom of the table begin to play out with more emphasis and intrigue. The top eight are all in action on what should be an entertaining day in the division.

We have three kick off times on Saturday so the action is maintained over the best part of seven hours including two live games in the UK.

Early Kick Off

All eyes will be on Old Trafford to begin the day. Can Jose Mourinho get his Manchester United side back to winning ways in the Premier League? They host the champions Leicester in a big game for both sides. Even at this stage of the season the losers here might find the title out of reach so the stakes are high.

3pm Matches

There are six matches in the usual 3pm slot. Bournemouth host Everton at the ridiculously named Vitality Stadium while Liverpool take on Hull. Tottenham look to kick on without Harry Kane when they head north to take on Middlesbrough.

The other three matches see Stoke hosting West Brom in a match which doesn’t look particularly appealing on paper while Man City face Swansea for the second time in a few days. Crystal Palace made the long journey to Sunderland in the other game.

Late Game

The day is rounded off by the match of the day when Arsenal host Chelsea in a London derby and just like the match to begin the day the losers here will find winning the title very difficult so there is plenty on the line in this one which should make for a competitive finale.

Betting

There are three bets I like in this set of fixtures. I nearly took another but the odds on Man City aren’t inspiring enough to warrant a bet even though I expect them to see off Swansea once again.

I’m going to kick things off right at the start of the day with a bet in the first match. Leicester were a defensive juggernaut last season but that isn’t how they have been this season. In fact they have been wide open in most of their matches and that bodes well for a few goals.

Man Utd haven’t really been much more inspiring defensively either but with Ibrahimovic in fine form and the likes of Pogba, Herrera and Mata offering good options from midfield they certainly have goals in them. I’m expecting more than 2.5 goals to get the day off to a good start.

Moving into the 3pm matches I’m really keen on Everton so far this season and I’m going to take them to get something down at Bournemouth. Everton have won their last four matches in the league with the only points they have dropped being on the opening day against Tottenham. Bournemouth haven’t really got started this season yet and I think they will struggle here.

Everton will have a point to prove in this match after throwing points away here late on last season and with Romelu Lukaku fired up and in full flow I fancy Ronald Koeman’s men will take some stopping with their counter attacking style likely to work to perfection. Everton with a bit of draw cover looks a good bet to me.

I’m also going to take one in the late game too. We’ve seen that neither Arsenal nor Chelsea can defend so far this season so I’m expecting an open game to end the day. Both sides are pretty strong going forward so the goals should really flow here. I was expecting a goals line up around and maybe even higher than three so to get a decent price on the 2.75 goals is too much for me to ignore.
