Premier League – Saturday 27th August Matches Betting Preview

Just as the Premier League season is kicking into life we have the final round of matches before the first international break of the campaign. On Saturday eight matches will be played as the leading protagonists look to jostle for early season positioning and those who haven’t come out of the traps look for some comfort to take into the break with them.

Early Kick Off

The game of the day probably comes in the opening match of the day when Tottenham take on Liverpool at White Hart Lane. Tottenham have made a solid start to the season with a win and a draw from their first two matches while Liverpool and a win and a defeat to their name and will probably be eager to get home for the first time this term.

3pm Matches

We have six matches at the usual Saturday afternoon time this week. They begin with Burnley travelling to Chelsea while Crystal Palace play host to Bournemouth. Everton face Stoke and all eyes will be on Leicester to see if the champions can pick up their first win of the season when they host Swansea.

The other two matches sees Southampton taking on Sunderland at St Mary’s and Watford host Arsenal in a London derby of sorts at Vicarage Road.

Late Game

The late game this week comes from the KC Stadium where something will have to give as the so far perfect Hull City take on the equally perfect Manchester United in a match where the winners could feasibly head into the international weekend on top of the table. This is a match which sees Mike Phelan leading a side against the club he was an assistant at for so long.

Betting

I’m finding this one a tricky fixture list to find anything in. One of the reasons for that is some of the sides haven’t really shown us their hands yet and those that have are all stuck in tricky little matches so in the end I’ve gone with a sustained form guide for a bet.

Everton’s home form has been poor for so long now that it can’t just be a coincidence and they have already played one match this season and failed to win it. Stoke haven’t started brilliantly but the scoreline flattered Man City a little bit last week and we know they can be hard to beat at the best of times.

I get the feeling Ronald Koeman isn’t entirely happy with his squad and it will be interesting to see if Romelu Lukaku starts this match. Whether he does or he doesn’t Everton’s record at Goodison over the last 15 months or so is enough for me to think Stoke are getting a bit too much of a start in this one.
