Premier League – Saturday 4th March Matches Betting Preview

Another Premier League weekend gets underway on Saturday and it does so with seven matches and some big matches in there too. It is a big day for those at the bottom of the table while a couple of Chelsea’s pursuers have the chance to close in on them a touch.

We have the usual three kick off times in play on Saturday to give us plenty of betting potential throughout the day.

Early Kick Off

The action gets underway at Old Trafford as Manchester United host Bournemouth. United will be buoyed by their win in the EFL Cup final last weekend while Bournemouth are struggling right now. Both sides will be eager for the points though so this should be a competitive starter for the day.

3pm Matches

The champions Leicester will be looking to build on their win over Liverpool when they host Hull City in a huge match at the bottom of the table. Another struggling side Middlesbrough head to Stoke while Swansea welcome Burnley to Wales. Two sides not really going anywhere in mid-table meet at Vicarage Road when Watford host Southampton while Tony Pulis welcomes his former side when West Brom take on Crystal Palace.

Late Game

The pick of the matches is saved for last as fifth placed Liverpool take on fourth placed Arsenal in a match which is going to have significant implications in who goes into next season’s Champions League. Both sides will claim they are still in the title hunt. I’m not so sure either are but the losers certainly won’t be anymore.

Betting

I’m going with two bets in the division on Saturday. The first one is on a Stoke side who I like to beat Middlesbrough. Middlesbrough really struggle on the road. They have only picked up one point in their last six away games and they’ve only scored one goal in that time too and I’m not convinced they’re going to get much more joy against a Stoke side who have only shipped two goals in their last four at home.

I guess there is a chance of a 0-0 draw here but Stoke have scored in their last five home matches and the signing of Saido Berahino gives them another dimension which can help them find the net and the win in this one.

I’m expecting goals in the late game. Sometimes football matches are set up for goals and I believe Liverpool vs Arsenal definitely is. If we remember back to the opening weekend of the season the two sides played out a seven goal thriller at the Emirates and neither side have impressed too much defensively since. Neither can afford to lose this one so if there is an early goal this one is going to kick off too.

The last three matches between the two at Anfield have had four or more goals and there was a 4-4 here a few years before that so it is a fixture which traditionally sees goals and I don’t think it will lack them here.
