Premier League – Sunday 15th January Matches Betting Preview

In one of the biggest nonsenses in football marketing history this week’s Super Sunday is being billed as Merseyside vs Manchester as the two Merseyside teams take on the two Manchester sides in a potentially crucial day at the top of the Premier League table.

With Chelsea winning on Saturday, Liverpool, Man City and Man Utd will all be looking for Sunday wins to try and keep up with the leaders at the top of the table.

Everton vs Man City

The day begins with the lowest side of the four in action in Everton hosting a Man City side who are starting to flatter to deceive a little too much for my liking. Had this been at the Etihad I would probably have fancied City but I’m not one for trusting them too much on the road.

I’ve a feeling there will be goals in this game but it isn’t a feeling that is strong enough to act on so I’m just going to sit tight and watch how this opener plays out without a bet on the game.

Man Utd vs Liverpool

The reverse fixture of this match was hyped up to the hilt and it was a load of garbage. I don’t think this game will be as bad – it would be impossible to be that bad – but I don’t think it will be a high scoring classic.

The reason for that is the magnitude of the game. Both sides have to win and all too often when that is the case they cancel each other out which isn’t ideal. I don’t believe Manchester United will be as negative in this game as they were at Anfield but I still don’t expect it to be too open.

Liverpool don’t look to be the same side without Sadio Mane and he is at the African Cup of Nations so that isn’t ideal. I fancy whoever ends up on the winning side this will be a bit of a stalemate which is separated narrowly so under 2.5 goals appeals.
