Premier League – Wednesday 1st February Matches Betting Preview

The midweek round of Premier League fixtures comes to an end on Wednesday evening when the last three matches are played and in action are both Manchester clubs who will be looking to take advantage of all the dropped points around them on Tuesday to close the gap between themselves and the rest at the top.

Chelsea, Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham all played and failed to win on Tuesday opening the door slightly for the Manchester duo to capitalise. We have a TV game on Wednesday and two away from the cameras. We’ll begin the preview with the TV match.

West Ham vs Man City

The last time these two played each other on the TV was last month when they met in the third round of the FA Cup and that is not a night West Ham will want reminding of as they were embarrassed into a 5-0 defeat so the Hammers won’t lack for motivation.

Since then the pressure has cranked up on Manchester City as a poor run of form has seen them slide out of the leading pack and left their title hopes hanging by a slender thread. West Ham have really improved since that FA Cup clash and might well fancy their chances here.

Stoke vs Everton

Two sides who are muddling around in mid-table meet away from the live UK cameras when Stoke host Everton at the Britannia Stadium. Stoke are generally strong at home and have made a decent move up the table in the last couple of months while Everton just can’t seem to find any consistency.

Both sides enjoyed good results in their previous match and have had a decent break having had no FA Cup duties last weekend so this one should be a decent game.

Man Utd vs Hull

For the third time in 2017 Man Utd and Hull meet. United got the better of their EFL Cup semi-final in recent times winning the first leg at Old Trafford 2-0 before Hull won the second leg but not by enough to make it to Wembley.

United have been in good touch in the league in recent times too, indeed they’ve gone well in all competitions and that defeat in the second leg last week ended a long unbeaten run. Hull have stepped up a level in performance under their new manager and there are signs of life from them which will give them hope.

Betting

I think these three matches are hard to bet on. There isn’t a lot that stands out in the way of value and with all the changes to the squads after a crazy transfer deadline day working out who will play and how teams will set up isn’t easy.

With that in mind I’m going to take a watching brief in these matches and use them for information further down the line. There are no bets for me on Wednesday evening.
