Sky Bet Championship 2021-22 – Friday 4th March Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

Another weekend in the Sky Bet Championship begins on Friday night when two matches take place. We are entering the final quarter of the campaign now and these two fixtures will impact both ends of the league table.

Both these matches are live on the TV with one of them being on the main channel and the other one needing to be screened via the red button. The good thing is that if you have a bet there is no need to miss any of the action.

Sheffield United vs Nottingham Forest (19.45 – Sky Main Event & Sky Football)

The match which takes place on the main TV channel comes from Bramall Lane where a spot in the top six awaits the winner of the clash between Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest. The Blades will go back into the play-off zone if they avoid defeat while the Tricky Trees need a win to move into the top six.

This is a really interesting match not least because of the prize at stake in it. Sheffield United are in excellent form, particularly on their own patch, but were surprisingly beaten at Millwall last week while Forest are one of the best teams in the league on their travels. One dynamic to this match is Forest have an FA Cup clash on Monday evening to look forward to but you would imagine all their attention will be on this contest because while the cup is nice a return to the Premier League has to be the overriding ambition. Sheffield United have a few injuries that they have collected which might have accounted for their loss in London last week. My gut feeling is Sheffield United are a touch on the short side here but I’m in no rush to oppose a side who have dropped just two points at home in their last six.

Huddersfield Town vs Peterborough United (19.45 – Sky Red Button)

The match with less focus on it is no less important in the overall scheme of things as promotion chasing Huddersfield Town take on a Peterborough United who are hurtling towards another relegation out of the second tier.

Huddersfield are absolutely flying but they have played more games than any side around them. They could move into second place with a win here but Bournemouth would have plenty of games in hand to overtake them again. Like Forest in the main match, the Terriers have an FA Cup tie on the horizon which if they win they will host Liverpool in the quarter final so the big test for the home side is to concentrate on this match rather than look ahead to that one. Huddersfield are undefeated in 17 matches in all competitions though so they are in good form. Peterborough certainly aren’t, not in the league anyway. They have one win in 19 matches and the last thing they needed was to chase Manchester City around in heavy conditions on Tuesday night. They made a few changes but it still isn’t ideal preparation that Huddersfield had when they had their feet up. Peterborough are terrible on the road and Huddersfield are pretty good at home. If they don’t overlook this match this really should be a comfortable home win.
