Big Matches
The first of the two televised matches on Saturday is the East-Midlands derby and it is a huge one for Nottingham Forest who look an absolute mess at the minute. They head to Pride Park to take on bitter rivals Derby County, a team who themselves have plenty of problems. Much later in the day second placed West Bromwich Albion will look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season when they go up against a Peterborough United side who are never short of entertainment. The leaders Fulham will hope to have picked up three points before that game when they host Stoke City at Craven Cottage.
Best of the Rest
Sheffield United will look to pick up their first win of the season when they head to Kenilworth Road to take on a Luton Town side who will have needed to dust themselves off after a 5-0 mauling by Birmingham City last week. The Blues will look to follow up that win with a trip to Barnsley while two sides who have made very impressive starts to the season meet in the capital when QPR welcome Coventry City. Cardiff City and AFC Bournemouth will put their unbeaten records on the line. Cardiff host Bristol City in the early kick off while the Cherries will head to Hull City.
Betting
I’m going to take it a little easy this week because we are at that stage in the season where there is a lot of chopping and changing to squads and knowing who is available and who isn’t is never the easiest information to find. Thankfully the window closes during the international break and things will have settled down by the time of the resumption but for now I’ll go with just the one bet which comes later in the evening where Peterborough United host West Bromwich Albion.
This is a match where I’m expecting to see goals. There is no doubt in my mind that Peterborough lack the mite in defence to deal with these West Brom set pieces but the only way they know really is to attack and look to score so I’m expecting to see a fairly exciting end to end match here. The odds for over 2.5 goals here look huge at 10/11 when you consider West Brom are the leading scorers with 11 in their four matches. Peterborough generally trouble the scorers at home too but it isn’t out of the question that the visitors cover this on their own. I like the over here.
