The latest weekend of Sky Bet Championship action concludes on Sunday when the final two matches take place and they are fixtures which will have a huge impact on proceedings at the bottom end of the table in particular.
Both the matches are live on TV over the course of Sunday afternoon and get the full build-up treatment with no Premier League matches this weekend and with them both carrying plenty of importance we should be in for a decent afternoon of football.
Where to watch
Both these matches will be shown live and in full on the Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Football channels with the show beginning at 1pm and kick offs coming at 1.30pm and 4pm.
Derby County vs Birmingham City (13.30)
The opening match of the day might be as much about events off the pitch as they are on it as two financially troubled sides meet when Derby County play host to Birmingham City in a crucial game at the bottom end of the table.
Derby County go into this match knowing that they can move to within five points of safety should they win this match and the great escape would be in sight, should events away from the pitch allow them to continue and attempt to achieve it. Birmingham have a 12 point buffer on the bottom three but there are only two teams between them and the drop zone and slowly but surely they are making their way towards it. The Blues have called for reinforcements and one has arrived in the form of Lyle Taylor who Lee Bowyer knows well from their Charlton days so it will be interesting to see if that has the desired effect. Either way these two clubs are a bit of a mess at the minute and there is no need to get involved in this one.

Cardiff City vs Nottingham Forest (16.00)
The second match of the afternoon will have an impact on both ends of the table where Cardiff City, needing some results to come away from the relegation scrap they are right in the middle of, host a Nottingham Forest side who will move to fifth in the table with a win here.
Cardiff are without a win in six in the league and even though he has only been in charge for five minutes there is already talk beginning to do the rounds that Neil Warnock will replace Steve Morison and that change is likely to be sped up if the Bluebirds lose here. Forest have already made their manager change this term and it has had exactly the effect they wanted. They have been one of the best teams in the league in the time Steve Cooper has been at the City Ground and that will be shown in the table if they win here as they will end the weekend in fifth place. These two clubs look to be going in opposite directions right now and if there is a winner here I’m fully expecting it to be the visitors.
