Sky Bet Championship 2021-22 – Tuesday 23rd November Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Sky Bet Championship schedule is always a little crazy coming out of the international break and that is the case this week where we have a midweek round of action to enjoy. That begins on Tuesday night where five matches take place.

Two of these five matches are live on the main TV channels covering this league and if you have the red button service you’ll be able to see the other three matches too. All five matches are available on the streaming service of each club too.

Tuesday’s fixtures as follows: (7.45pm unless stated; UK TV in brackets)

Blackpool v West Bromwich Albion

Coventry City v Birmingham City (Sky Main Event & Sky Football)

Middlesbrough v Preston North End

Nottingham Forest v Luton Town

Preview

The top two are not in action on Tuesday night so there is the chance for two of the three closest challengers to close the gap on them for 24 hours at least. One of those do so in one of the TV matches which sees Coventry City hosting their recent landlords Birmingham City. The other televised match sees troubled Reading taking on a Sheffield United side who need to start improving very quickly if they are going to achieve their aim of an immediate return to the Premier League.

West Bromwich Albion are the highest placed team on show on Tuesday night and they will be looking to bounce back from their defeat to Huddersfield Town when they head to Bloomfield Road to face a Blackpool side who are performing much better than expected this season. The other two matches sees Middlesbrough taking on Preston North End while Luton Town make the trip up the M1 to take on Nottingham Forest.

Betting

I’ll open the midweek matches with the one bet but I’m going to air on the side of caution because the schedule is tough and if there are going to be surprise results they are going to come here you would imagine. I would still be surprised if Preston North End beat Middlesbrough though. I say that because Preston have still only won one match on their travels all season and while that was a significant one given that it was away to Bournemouth, that continues to look a freak result.

I would expect Middlesbrough to improve with Chris Wilder at the helm. They were unlucky not to begin his tenure with a win at the weekend when they were all over Millwall only to concede to a goal where there was a clear foul in the build up. Wilder needs to find a way for his side to score more goals but there will be an organisation and a passion about Middlesbrough and with Preston not being great on their travels, Wilder should get his first win as Boro boss here.

Tips

Back Middlesbrough (-0.25AH) to beat Preston North End for a 3/10 stake at 1.74 with BetVictor
