There are still a number of matches to be caught up with in the Sky Bet Championship season after the Covid-19 issues of earlier in the campaign and five of those take place on a fairly important night of football on Tuesday.
Of the five matches which will take place we have one of those on the TV to enjoy while two more will be available to view via the red button. There will be all the usual Saturday ways of keeping up to date with the other two games.

The highest ranked team on show on Tuesday evening are Luton Town. The play-off chasers make the relatively short trip to Peterborough United where the home side will know that they simply have to pick up points from this contest or else their survival chances will be really start looking like they will fade away. There is a big match in the race for the top six as well as Sheffield United host QPR with the losers knowing they are going to need to do something special if they are going to extend their season.
The televised action comes from Deepdale where two big Lancashire clubs meet in a derby game when Preston North End host Blackpool. Both teams sit in mid-table though so there isn’t a huge amount on that game but there are on the other two. Millwall could close to within a point of the play-offs if they can beat Swansea City at The New Den while down at the other end of the table Reading will be looking to open up an eight point gap between themselves and the relegation zone when they welcome Stoke City to the Madejski Stadium.
Betting
I’ve mentioned throughout the season that Luton Town have this incredible record in midweek in this campaign and I expect that to continue when they head to Peterborough United on Tuesday evening. To be fair to Posh at the beginning of the season they were hard to beat on their own patch but they are without a home win in their last eight outings at London Road and only have one win anywhere in their last 17 matches which was against QPR who they seem to have the wood over. That home record includes draws against Reading and Stoke City, both of whom were ordinary at the time they played them.
Luton have played 14 midweek matches in the Championship this season and have won 11 of them and drawn the other three. They are a side on the up and have relentlessly stressed the importance of their games in hand this term. They have won matches in hand at the likes of Swansea City, Coventry City and Reading this season and this is another of those. They will move into third place in the table with a win but more importantly will open up at least a five point gap between them and seventh place. If Peterborough have anything about them and any fight left then they will offer up a reaction to Saturday’s disastrous result but one win in 17 suggests they are going to drop out of the division tamely. Luton won 3-0 when these two met on the opening day of the season and backed by an army of 3,700 supporters I expect them to complete the double here.
