Big Matches
The two sides who were expected to dominate this division this season meet at Carrow Road to get the action underway when Norwich City play host to Burnley. Burnley are living up to the billing and will look for another three points which will take them closer to a return to the Premier League but Norwich, not going quite so well, have had a bounce under David Wagner and will look for that to continue in this one. The other televised match behind the red button sees Sheffield United looking to keep pace with Burnley at the top while pulling away from third place. They make the short trip to Rotherham United.
Best of the Rest
It is a big day in the chase for the play-off spots and potential automatic promotion should Sheffield United come unstuck. Middlesbrough are leading the way in that and they will take on Blackpool at the Riverside while Luton Town begin the day in fourth spot. They are also at home when they take on Stoke City. Watford are the other side in the top six on show on Saturday. They make the trip to the Madejski Stadium to take on Reading. At the other end of the table Huddersfield Town will be looking to escape the bottom three when they entertain QPR while Cardiff City will be looking to avoid that happening when they meet Hull City.
Betting
I saw Cardiff City on Tuesday evening and while there was a bit more of an organised look about them there was very little to enjoy about them in the final third and I’m not sure Sabri Lamouchi will have had much time on the training ground to have sorted that out. It probably isn’t even his priority at this stage. He will be looking to keep that organisation and rigid formation that his teams play with. That might make the vulnerable to a fluid Hull City team.
I like the work that Hull City are doing under Liam Rosenior and they have lost just one of their last nine matches, which was away to Sheffield United in a game they gave plenty in and might have deserved a better result. The Tigers reinforced during the transfer window and are a team who might propel themselves from this logjam over the final third of the season. Cardiff are without a win in 10 now and were beaten in Wales by a Hull side before they strengthened. Hull come in here off the back of a convincing win over QPR last week and with draw cover which you are going to need against a Lamouchi led team, they are value to win this one too.
