There is a midweek round of matches in the Sky Bet Championship this week and they get underway on Tuesday evening when half of the division look to improve their standing in the table as we head towards the final quarter of the campaign.
Two of the six matches are live on TV for us to enjoy while the other four can all be seen via the red button service for those who have that facility so therefore anyone who has a bet has no reason to not be able to follow it.

Birmingham City v Cardiff City
Coventry City v Millwall (Sky Sports Arena)
Norwich City v Hull City

Preview
The big TV match comes from Turf Moor where the leaders Burnley will look to move 10 points clear at the top of the table and a massive 20 points clear of third when they play host to a Watford side who are gaining a reputation of only playing when they want to. Burnley have won their last 10 in the Championship but Watford have the talent to trouble them if they fancy the job. The other TV game comes from the CBS Arena where Coventry City take on a Millwall side who could move into fourth if they pick up a comfortable victory.
Four other matches take place on Tuesday night with many of them revolving around the race for the Championship play-offs. Norwich City are well in the hunt for that and they host a Hull City side who are looking to get into it. Sunderland are another in the mix and they face a trip to QPR. The other two matches are more about the bottom of the table. Birmingham City will look to continue to pull away from danger when they host Cardiff City while Reading will look to arrest their slide towards the drop when they go up against Rotherham United at the Madejski.
Betting
I’m not convinced that Sunderland will finish the season as well as they were going when they had the goal threat of Ross Stewart to call upon but they take on a QPR side who have won just one of their last 15 matches and who have had nothing like the bounce they wanted when Neil Critchley was appointed. Some of that is down to injuries and personnel problems but a run of that kind clearly does nothing for confidence and I’m surprised Sunderland are the outsiders in the match.
Sunderland go into the match off the back of four wins in their last seven and only one defeat in that time and that tells us that the loss of Stewart is not hampering them as much as it might otherwise have done. Patrick Roberts is beginning to show his class and this young Sunderland offense can showcase their skills against a QPR back line which isn’t really pulling up any trees. Sunderland are a big price on the draw no bet lines, which I do think is important in these midweek matches, so I’ll back the Black Cats accordingly.
