Sky Bet Championship 2022-23 – Tuesday 25th October Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

Two matches take place in the Sky Bet Championship on Tuesday evening on a night where four teams look to make up for the cancellations of previous games. This could be a big evening for the teams involved too as they have the chance to catch up with those above them.

We have one of the two matches live on the TV for us to enjoy and I’m sure the coverage will have regular updates from the other game although there is no way to actually watch that one if you are in the UK. We’ll begin the preview with the TV game even though it is the later one to kick off.

Burnley vs Norwich City (20.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Football)

The TV cameras head up to Turf Moor to see two teams who were in the Premier League last season and eager to get back there straight away meeting when Burnley play host to Norwich City in a key game for both sides.

Burnley start the contest knowing that if they avoid defeat they will head into the weekend on top of the table. Norwich will move back into the top six with a win of their own but I would imagine their primary aim will be to end this slump of results they are in. The Canaries have failed to win any of their last five and although they drew with Sheffield United at the weekend, that would have felt like a defeat, as they were 2-0 up before being pegged back. Burnley were also two goals down at the weekend but then they went into overdrive to see Sunderland off 4-2 to take their unbeaten run to 13 matches. If there is a criticism of Burnley it is that they draw too many but they have won three of their last four now and scored four times in two of those wins. I saw Norwich in person last week and they looked a team short of confidence who soon ran out of ideas and so with Burnley likely to dominate the ball and with them adding goals to their play I think they come out on top here, but given their tendency to draw I’ll have some draw cover on my side.

Coventry City vs Rotherham United (19.45)

The other match on the evening, which doesn’t have the TV coverage, comes from the midlands where Coventry City play host to Rotherham United in a match which could see either team making a significant move up the table.

Coventry go in search of a fourth win in succession in this match and if they achieve that they will move out of the bottom three and up five places and still have matches in hand. Coventry made a slow start to the season but that was all down to not being able to build up a rhythm due to their home ground being unavailable for so long. They are having to cram matches in now and so you would imagine they’ll be eager to strike while they are in good form. Rotherham head into this match off the back of a bit of a heavy beating by Hull City at the weekend but they did win their last away game at Stoke. I expect Coventry to win this. I think they’re the better side but a full win on any of the handicaps needs them to win by two or more but the Sky Blues have only scored two goals in four home games and only five in their last seven so while I would expect a relatively smooth home win, at the prices I’ll leave it alone.
