There is another midweek round of matches in the Sky Bet Championship this week with half of the division in action on Tuesday night on an evening which feels like it could be important given the tightness of the table.
There are six fixtures taking place in total and two of those are live in front of the main channels on TV for us to enjoy. Those who have access to the red button service will be able to view the other games to keep tabs on any betting activity.

Preview
Three teams in the top six compete in the two TV matches on Tuesday evening. Third hosts second at the Madejski Stadium where Reading go in search of a sixth home win in seven matches this season when they play host to a Norwich City side who look for an eighth win in their last nine Championship outings. The other top six side on TV are Blackburn Rovers. They make the long trip to Wales to take on a Cardiff City who begin the evening two points above the drop.
The leaders are in action away from the main TV channels on Tuesday night when Sheffield United play host to fifth placed QPR. Sunderland in eighth are also on show when they host a Blackpool side who are just a point above the drop beginning the evening. Huddersfield Town are in the relegation zone and they head to Kenilworth Road to take on Luton Town in a repeat of the play-off semi-final from last season. Bottom placed Coventry City head to Ashton Gate to take on a Bristol City who have lost their last three matches in the other game.
Betting
Bristol City aren’t pulling up any trees defensively at the minute. They have conceded two or more goals in five of their last six matches and the other one was against Huddersfield who are one of the poorer teams in the league. The league table will tell you the worst team in the league are Coventry City but that is only because they have played two or three matches fewer than everyone else. There are far worse teams in the division than them.
Given their lack of matches stopping them from building up a rhythm it probably isn’t a surprise that Coventry only got their first win of the season on Saturday but I certainly expect more of them to follow and I wouldn’t be surprised if their second comes here. I’m not confident with the Sky Blues’ defence just yet though even though they have kept successive clean sheets. Birmingham and Middlesbrough aren’t the most testing attacks to take on so I like over 2.5 goals in what has the makings of an open and entertaining game.
