Preview

The TV cameras head to the King Power Stadium on Tuesday evening as the two highest placed teams on show on the night meet when the leaders Leicester City play host to sixth placed Sunderland in a match which could see the Foxes move eight points clear at the top for 24 hours at least should they come out on top in it. Just two other top 10 sides are on show on Tuesday evening. West Bromwich Albion are one of those and they host lowly QPR at The Hawthorns while Norwich City take on Middlesbrough at Carrow Road.

Cardiff City are riding much higher in the table than many expected them to be and they will be hoping to enhance that when they make the fairly lengthy trip to Yorkshire to take on Huddersfield Town. That means that Swansea City will be at home as they look to bounce back from defeat to the leaders Leicester at the weekend. Watford might be the ideal opponent to do that against. Two mid-table teams meet in the other game as Millwall take on Blackburn Rovers at The New Den where the home side have revenge on their minds after their visitors denied them a spot in the play-offs at the end of last season.

Betting

It understandably took Swansea City a few matches to adjust styles after the departure of Russell Martin to the one which Michael Duff wants to employ but the fact that they won four successive matches prior to the weekend tells us that they have cracked that particular code. I’m not too worried about their defeat on Saturday as there doesn’t look like there are going to be many teams who halt the Leicester City bandwagon this season.

Watford are next in the firing line for the Swans and they are impressing nobody this season. They are yet to win away from home and the three wins they have on the season have come against two of the bottom three and a 10-man Birmingham City side who held out until injury time against them. Despite giving him a new contract we are already in the time where everyone knows it is a matter of time before Valerien Ismael is sent on his way. Even in victory at the weekend there was little that was convincing about Watford and this looks like a great chance for Swansea to return to winning ways but with plenty of draw cover available on the Asian lines I’ll have that on my side given the swift nature of these games.
