Big Matches
The main TV cameras make their way down to Wales on Saturday afternoon as an improving Cardiff City side welcome a Blackburn Rovers outfit who have hit a bit of a wall in recent matches. The other two live games see four sides who were all victorious in midweek looking to back up those victories. Middlesbrough will hope to put their attacking output into goals when they play host to Luton Town while Stoke City will be aiming for successive wins when they host a Millwall side who have disposed of Leeds United and Burnley in the last week.
Best of the Rest
The leaders Sunderland are in action on Saturday afternoon. They will look to ensure they go into the international break on top of the pile when they host a Coventry City side who will play a first match in seven years without Mark Robins guiding them after his surprise dismissal in midweek. Leeds United will be looking to move into second place for roughly 24 hours at least when they welcome lowly Queens Park Rangers to Elland Road while two of the bottom five meet at Fratton Park as Portsmouth and Preston North End look to end runs of four games without a win. Plymouth Argyle will hope to come out of the bottom three when they make the trip to Pride Park to face Derby County while in the other match two of the more entertaining teams in the league meet when Norwich City host Bristol City.
Betting
Wayne Rooney returns to Pride Park with his Plymouth Argyle side on Saturday afternoon but I think it could be another fruitless away day for the Pilgrims when they face a Derby County who while they aren’t the best team in the division, they are going pretty well on home soil this term and have generally made a habit of beating the sides around them that they need to beat to stay comfortable at this level. Plymouth would definitely fit into that category.
Argyle have only picked up one point on their travels this term and that was at lowly QPR when they drew 1-1. Incredibly they have played six away games since then and haven’t scored a single goal in any of them. Derby have only lost once at home this season and that was when Norwich beat them courtesy of a hat trick from the leading scorer in the division. Plymouth are clearly nothing to that level and are missing a few players so this feels like a good chance for Derby to pick up another home win at a respectable 1.75.
Tips
Back Derby County to beat Plymouth Argyle for a 3/10 stake at 1.75 with William Hill
