It is FA Cup second round weekend and as such there isn’t a scheduled round of League 2 fixtures this weekend but four sides who are already out of that competition have rearranged matches for Saturday so we have a couple of games to target.
Stevenage vs Doncaster and Yeovil vs Crawley were meant to take place in the last midweek round of matches but with both Stevenage and Doncaster already out of the FA Cup they moved their match to here while the other game was called off because of a waterlogged pitch and rearranged now.
Stevenage vs Doncaster
This is actually a big afternoon for Doncaster as with Plymouth’s recent implosion they can go top of the table if they win this match. Stevenage can go level with the playoffs should they win and they would have a game in hand of everyone above them too so there is a decent incentive for both sides.
Both teams are in decent form going into this match so it is a tricky one to call in many ways. Doncaster are a better side than Stevenage but Luton have already lost there and Donny either win or lose on the road with no middle ground. If pushed I would take Doncaster but they are plenty short enough to avoid and sit this one out.
Yeovil vs Crawley
When this match was originally scheduled I tipped up Yeovil and although Crawley have had a good win since then I still fancy the home side here. Crawley remain the second worst side in the division away from home and have lost their last three matches so although last week’s win was good I’m not sure it has massive amounts of significance here.
Yeovil are now unbeaten in seven matches in the league and a win here sees them move into the playoffs. That should be all the incentive they need to deliver a big performance and with their home form very good I’m expecting them to pick up the win they crave in this one.
