Skybet League 2 – Tuesday 22nd November Matches Betting Preview

There is a midweek round in Skybet League 2 this week with all but two of the sides in action and looking to either break down from the pack of extend their lead of it. With this set of fixtures coming so soon after Saturday and with conditions up and down the country getting pretty extreme the men and the boys may well be sorted out here.

Tuesday fixtures are as follows:

Cheltenham Town v Colchester United

Crewe Alexandra v Morecambe

Grimsby Town v Carlisle United

Hartlepool United v Accrington Stanley

Leyton Orient v Exeter City

Luton Town v Portsmouth

Mansfield Town v Blackpool

Newport County v Wycombe Wanderers

Notts County v Cambridge United

Plymouth Argyle v Barnet

Yeovil Town v Crawley Town

Big Matches

The one game which jumps off the page in this set of fixtures is the one at Kenilworth Road between two of the pre-season favourites to win the division in Luton Town and Portsmouth. The two sit just outside the automatic promotion places and a win would be significant for either.

The leaders Plymouth will look to get back on track after Saturday’s defeat when they host Barnet at Home Park while second placed Carlisle make the trip to Grimsby which is no easy match. Two of the bottom five meet at Brisbane Road when Leyton Orient take on Exeter.

Best of the Rest

Not many other matches stand out in truth although Mansfield and Blackpool are both in the top half and they meet at the One Call while two of the form horses meet in Wales should Newport’s pitch hold up to the rain – a very big if! when Newport host Wycombe. Improving Yeovil host Crawley at Huish Park.

Betting

I find this a tricky card to find a lot of value with two of the better sides meeting each other and Carlisle facing a tricky trip to Grimsby. Usually I would look at Plymouth but off the back of a drubbing on Saturday they aren’t as appealing as they usually are. In the end I’ve settled on one bet with the intention of keeping my powder largely dry until the weekend.

Yeovil are in good form at the minute and have made it up to eighth in the table almost unnoticed. A key reason for that has been their home form where they are undefeated in five matches in the league and only conceded one goal in their last four which is decent stuff whoever you are.

They go up against a Crawley who are winless in six overall and who have lost their last three on the road, barely landing a blow in any of those matches. Confidence is going to be high with Yeovil at the minute and I see no reason why they can’t extend that morale with another home win here.
