After a rare midweek off League Two resumes on Saturday with a full set of fixtures all kicking off at the traditional 3pm start time. The league table is starting to take shape now which will hopefully make betting on the league a little easier.

Carlisle United v Dagenham & Redbridge 3:00 PM
Exeter City v Hartlepool United 3:00 PM
Mansfield Town v Crawley Town 3:00 PM
Newport County v Morecambe 3:00 PM
Northampton Town v Oxford United 3:00 PM
Notts County v Luton Town 3:00 PM
Portsmouth v Barnet 3:00 PM
Stevenage v York City 3:00 PM
Wycombe Wanderers v Plymouth Argyle 3:00 PM
Yeovil Town v AFC Wimbledon 3:00 PM
At first look there were a number of matches which interested me from a betting point of view but on closer inspection I’m left with just two bets but I will just mention the ones I was interested in and why I no longer am.
I was going to take Oxford at injury laden Northampton but the absence of Kemar Roofe puts me off there. Roofe is one of the best players I’ve seen at this level in recent times and while I would still fancy Oxford to win the value in them is lessened slightly with Roofe’s injury.
Another side I was going to back were Carlisle but I’m a little concerned with how they concede goals. They’ve already allowed Cambridge to score four against them earlier in the season and Barnet were allowed to come back from 2-0 down to 2-2 before Carlisle got over the line and Dagenham have the potential to score.
Mansfield and Bristol Rovers were also on my radar but they might just be a little short based on what they’ve produced recently so I’ll pass them over too and focus on the two matches I do still like.
Exeter gave the league leaders Leyton Orient a truly great beating last weekend and I’m going to back them to follow up that win against a Hartlepool side who are fading pretty fast.
Exeter’s attacking options are so strong these days that we shouldn’t be too surprised when they score goals but it was his defence that Paul Tisdale praised after their 4-0 win over Orient and if they’re defending well they’re going to be tough to stop.
Hartlepool make the ridiculously long journey south with a number of injuries which are starting to hurt them really badly. They’ve now lost three on the bounce in the league and with Carl Magnay now beginning a suspension their defensive stock is shortening especially with Harry Worley playing through an injury. With that in mind at just under evens Exeter look a safe bet.
I’m off to Meadow Lane on Saturday and I expect to see some goals. Luton haven’t kept a clean sheet all season and Notts County haven’t kept one since the opening day so both defences are a bit too profligate for the respective manager’s liking I’m sure.
Not only are the defences not performing as tightly as both coaches would like but these two sides have two of the better strikers in the league in their midst in Jon Stead and Craig Mackail-Smith. With a decent support cast to both players I’m expecting attack to beat defence in this one and that in turn should yield more than 2.5 goals.
Back Exeter to beat Hartlepool for a 4/10 stake at 1.93 with BetVictor
Back Notts Co vs Luton – Over 2.5 goals for a 4/10 stake at 2.05 with Coral
