The final day of action in the Super League before the playoffs takes place on Sunday with three last matches in the qualifiers and a sole game in the Super 8s before we get into the cutthroat nature of knockout football.
The Super 8s match sees Hull FC hosting Catalans at the KC Stadium while in the qualifiers Hull KR host Salford, Wakefield host Sheffield and Widnes take on Leigh in a match you can watch on the Sky Sports iPad app.
The Catalans haven’t travelled well all season so I’m tempted to take the -4 on Hull FC and I might well end up ruing the decision not to but with so many players on both sides playing their final matches for their respective clubs and with nothing else to play for I’m going to tentatively leave that game alone.
Nothing really catches my eye in the qualifiers either. We know the three sides who will be back in Super League and Bradford’s second half collapse on Saturday ensures we know that Wakefield will host Bradford in the ‘Million Pound Match’ next weekend for the right to win the last spot in next year’s Super League.
With motivation and competitive edge non-existent in all four matches on Sunday I’ll take a watching berth and keep my powder dry for the excitement of the playoffs and internationals to come.
