It is a big night in the Super League on Friday with places in the semi-finals and the Million Pound Match to be determined across a three game card in the Super 8s and the Qualifiers.
There is one match on TV on Friday night which is the huge Super 8s clash but the other two are sure to get updated regularly on the coverage. We will begin with the live game.

Castleford Tigers vs Hull FC
The main match is one for the conspiracy theorists as the league leading Castleford Tigers host the play-off chasing Hull FC. St Helens’ win on Thursday night has sent Hull FC down to fourth. If they win this match they will go third and head to Leeds in the semi-final next week. A loss and assuming they get in, which they would need Wakefield to beat Wigan for that to happen, and they go back to Castleford.
Conspiracy theorists will think Castleford would be happy to lose this to take on St Helens next week but in truth I don’t think they will think like that. They are so far clear of the field this season if this was a track race they would have lapped the rest three times over.
Hull FC have to win this to ensure themselves of a semi-final spot but this is a real banana skin match. Castleford might have rested their star players for the match but they can throw the ball around and have some fun here. If Hull do win, and I don’t think it is a certainty, I think they’ll only win by a score given that winning is their primary aim not running up a score.
Huddersfield Giants vs Leeds Rhinos
The other Super 8s match is the only dead rubber of the night as the Huddersfield Giants, who end their season here, host the Leeds Rhinos who will have home field advantage in the semi-final next week whatever happens here.
This is an easy game to swerve. Huddersfield’s motivation would need to be taken on trust and could be questionable while Leeds are sure to have more than one eye on next week. We don’t need to get involved in this match.
London Broncos vs Leigh Centurions
The season ends here for the London Broncos but after a year of undoubted progression they will be keen to go out on a high. Leigh Centurions have a chance of hosting the Million Pound Match next weekend if they win this match. If not they will travel to either Widnes or Catalans for it.
The Broncos have been very competitive in this qualifying campaign. They can no longer make the Million Pound Match but last week was the first time they have really been outclassed. I sense Leigh are a tired bunch at the minute and you’ve got to think that although home advantage would be nice next week being relatively fresh would be better for them. With that in mind I’ll take the home side to ride the dozen start they receive.
