There is one match in the Super League on Saturday which comes from the Halliwell Jones Stadium as the Warrington Wolves look to continue their recent revival when they entertain the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
It was a period of differing results over Easter for these two sides with Warrington enjoying back to back wins to give them plenty to build from while Wakefield went down to two defeats which leaves them needing to bounce back.
Warrington Wolves
Although Warrington picked up a pair of wins over the Easter period you would have to say there was little that was assured about it. They laboured to wins over Widnes Vikings and the Huddersfield Giants and while that is always a testing period I’ve no doubt a fully functioning Wolves side would have overwhelmed both.
Warrington just look to be struggling in attack to me. It isn’t easy to pin down why that is either because the combinations look strong but for whatever reason they are struggling to unlock defences. They have the personnel to do it but can’t seem to get it done regularly. On the plus side they are defending much better.
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats
In fairness to Wakefield Trinity you have to give them the benefit of the doubt for their results over the Easter period. They put up a fair challenge to the rampant Castleford Tigers before only going down by a score to the Wigan Warriors so they had it real tough over Easter. They performed with credit though and that shouldn’t be forgotten.
Wakefield certainly have no issues finding the opposition try line and in Tom Johnstone they have one of the best wingers in the competition. Their issue is keeping sides out of their own try zone but with Warrington struggling in attack that might not be quite an issue here. If they have recovered well they will fancy their chances.
Team News
Warrington welcome Kevin Brown, Matty Russell and Joe Westerman back from injury for this match but they will be without the suspended Daryl Clark which is a big blow. Mike Cooper remains out injured.
Wakefield Trinity have lost Mitch Allgood and Matty Ashurst to injury which isn’t ideal but Sam Williams returns to the fold. Max Jowitt could feature should Scott Grix be rested after a heavy workload.

Betting
Warrington are understandable favourites if not for their favourable record over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats than their reputation but I’m not convinced they will win this one going away. This Wakefield side are made of stern stuff these days and they never shirk a challenge. I don’t think they will here either.
If Warrington’s attack was firing fully and functioning to the full I might think again here but while I probably still fancy the home side to win the game I think it is asking a lot of a side who are struggling for points to win by more than a dozen especially without the immense yardage Daryl Clark provides.
