The first half of the Super League programme for the Easter period concludes on Friday with five more matches in the division which includes the two biggest derbies in the competition and three other competitive looking tussles.
Bragging rights and everything that goes with it are at stake in Hull and St Helens while important competition points are up for grabs in the other three matches on what should be a tasty offering of Good Friday action.
The Good Friday fixtures are as follows: (kick off time in brackets)
Salford Red Devils vs Catalans Dragons (12.00)
Hull KR vs Hull FC (12.50)
Huddersfield Giants vs Leeds Rhinos (15.00)
Warrington Wolves vs Widnes Vikings (15.00)
St Helens vs Wigan Warriors (15.15)
Big Matches
You could argue that all of these matches are big ones but there are two in particular that are bigger than the others as they are on TV. They are the big derbies which begins in Hull when the red half of the city host the black and white half at Craven Park before the top two in the league meet at Langtree Park when St Helens host bitter rivals Wigan Warriors in a match which has a classic written all over it.
Other Matches
The pick of the other matches is the Yorkshire clash between the Huddersfield Giants and the Leeds Rhinos which sees Chris Thorman in charge of the Giants for the first time. Salford Red Devils will look to make up for their defeat at Widnes last week when they host a woeful looking Catalans Dragons side while Warrington Wolves welcome rivals Widnes Vikings to the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Betting
I’m going with two bets on Friday and they come in the TV matches where I think both the visitors are worth supporting. Hull KR have a few injury problems heading into their match with Hull FC and that is not what they need. Hull FC get their captain Danny Houghton back for this one which will be a massive boost and with the quality they have up front combined with the dynamism, pace and power in the back line I am expecting FC to be too strong for Rovers.
St Helens have only lost one match this season but it came to arguably the only top level side they have faced in the Leeds Rhinos. They did face Castleford on the opening week of the season but the Tigers were pathetic on that occasion. I fancy Wigan Warriors could turn them over too. If we ignore the week after the World Club Challenge when Wigan were clearly shattered they are unbeaten in Super League and on that they have to be overpriced. St Helens are a top side this year but the one chance they had to prove they were the real deal they got turned over. I fancy they might suffer the same fate against a streetwise Wigan side here too.
Tips
Back Hull FC (-8) to beat Hull KR for a 4/10 stake at 1.91 with Boylesports
