The Super League weekend continues on Saturday when another two matches are played out with the top six and the identity of those potentially competing in the play-offs very much in the spotlight across the day.
Unfortunately despite both matches carrying importance there is no TV coverage of either so we will have to rely on radio commentaries and the updates on social media in order to keep up with everything that is happening in them.
Huddersfield Giants vs Warrington Wolves (15.00)
The opening match of the day sees two sides who are under a grey cloud in the form department meeting when the title chasing Huddersfield Giants play host to the disappointment of the season so far in the Warrington Wolves.
Huddersfield are sitting pretty up in fourth place in the table and there is no danger of them not being in action when the business end of the season comes along but they go into this match having lost their last two matches. On the face of it defeats away to St Helens and Catalans Dragons aren’t particularly bad ones although it has to be said their effort against Saints was pitiful. They were much better last week. Warrington have also lost their last two matches but they have been beaten by the Castleford Tigers and Hull KR and you can pick holes right through the form. The truth of it is at no stage this season have we seen a convincing Warrington side and so bad has their campaign been that if they lose this they might start looking over their shoulder and making sure they avoid the drop rather than pin their hopes on making the top six. This will be the first time Huddersfield have played at home in the last six weeks and they have won their last four matches at the John Smith’s Stadium so they’ll be looking to use home comforts to the maximum. Warrington have lost their last six away games and although they have a good record against Huddersfield, I expect that to come to an end here. Huddersfield are just too consistent for an overrated Warrington.

Catalans Dragons vs Leeds Rhinos (18.00)
The second match to kick off comes from the south of France where the Catalans Dragons will look to keep up their pursuit of a top two finish when they host a Leeds Rhinos side who haven’t given up hopes of making it into the top six by the end of the season.
Both teams go into this match off the back of wins last week. Catalans edged out Huddersfield by a solitary point while Leeds absolutely battered Wigan in what was probably their best result and performance of the season so far. The likes of Harry Newman impressed in that match and him being available here gives Leeds a shot in this match because Catalans are missing a heap of players. The French side might have the bit between their teeth here though because they’ve been irked by some comments Huddersfield coach Ian Watson made after the match last week and might be out to prove they do offer something to Super League. There was enough in that Leeds performance last week to be wary of them but I just can’t take on Catalans in France. I’ll sit this one out.
