The Super League weekend concludes on Sunday afternoon and you could say that we have saved the best for last with the top two both in action across the two matches which take place to finish Round 23 of the competition.
All four teams on show are playing for something on Sunday and with just four matches left after this one they know each one is beginning to gather importance. Unfortunately there is no TV coverage of these ones so you’ll need to be digitally up to speed if you’re not going to a game.
Hull FC vs St Helens (15.00)
One of the two matches on Sunday afternoon sees Hull FC looking to close the three point gap between themselves and the Leeds Rhinos in the race for the play-offs when they host the champions St Helens who will secure a first round bye in the postseason with a win.
Saints have been the best team in the competition this season but they haven’t been quite as dominant as in previous campaigns. Injuries is a large part of that and they are still carrying one or two too many of those for my liking. Injuries has been a thing for Hull FC throughout the season and they are never not an issue so although this is an important game I wouldn’t want to recommend a bet until we have seen how the two line up so I’m happy to sit this one out.

Wakefield Trinity vs Wigan Warriors (15.00)
The other match will affect things at the top and the bottom of the table when Wakefield Trinity look to pull themselves away from relegation trouble when they welcome the Challenge Cup winners Wigan Warriors to Belle Vue.
This is an interesting game after Toulouse lost on Thursday evening. It means that Wakefield almost have a free hit here but knowing that they have the two Hull clubs coming up in their next two fixtures while Toulouse face Wigan and Catalans in their next two, there might be a sense of the home side targeting what is to come rather than going all out in a game they are unlikely to win here and leave themselves exposed on a short turnaround. Wigan had a terrible outing against Leeds three weeks to go but to their credit they have bounced back with successive wins over Hull KR and Warrington, conceding just 10 points over the two games. In the heat in Yorkshire on Sunday the last thing Wakefield need is to be chasing the two Wigan speedsters and at some point I expect the visitors to cut loose and run out comfortable winners.
