The televised action comes from France where the two French teams meet on a night which could be catastrophic for Toulouse Olympique. They host their rivals Catalans Dragons knowing that if they don’t win the game they will be relegated back to the Championship. Even if they do win the game they could still be relegated should Wakefield Trinity beat Hull KR at Belle Vue. Catalans will be wanting to send Toulouse down as they could do with a win to arrest a run of three defeats in four. It won’t be plain sailing for Wakefield either as Hull KR have to win out to have any chance of making the postseason.
The other two matches are all about the race for the top six and the two sides deeply involved in that are both in action. Salford Red Devils are currently sixth in the table on point difference. They host Hull FC whose season will officially be done if they lose that match. Castleford Tigers are seventh and need a win to keep tabs with Salford. They go to former coach Daryl Powell and his Warrington Wolves side with their hosts playing for nothing from here on in.
Betting
If you take their win over the Catalans Dragons at Magic Weekend out of the equation as that week is always different to the others, the only two teams the Warrington Wolves have beaten in their last 13 outings have been Toulouse Olympique and a rancid Hull FC side who could do nothing right on the night. With the Wolves now as good as safe and without much to play for I think they could come up short once again, this time when they face the Castleford Tigers.
The Tigers have it all on the line here and while they were pretty ordinary against Huddersfield last week, they were just getting into the game when Greg Eden dropped a high bomb on his own try line. Usually at this stage of the season injuries are key but Castleford, while not at full strength, aren’t as inconvenienced as they might have been if their 21-man squad is to be believed. Warrington get Stefan Ratchford and Jack Hughes back this week but Castleford will head to the Halliwell Jones full motivated to turn their former coach over and stay relevant in the top six race. They are value to get a much needed win against a Wire side they beat 35-22 five weeks ago.
