New Zealand have made the final of the last two 50 over World Cups but have never been to the title showdown of the T20 World Cup and that will be something they will be looking to change over the course of this event. There is no reason why they can’t emulate their ODI exploits here.

Team Guide
New Zealand are now the best team in the world in the Test match game and have to be considered one of the best teams in the 50 over game as well and now they get the chance to showcase their talents in the 20 over game. When you consider Adam Milne can’t even get into this squad by rights you would have to think the Kiwis are a very strong outfit, although whether they are that good in these conditions remains to be seen.
The beauty of New Zealand in all formats is that they have a bowling attack that can fit all conditions and with a couple of tidy spinners and some real swing bowlers there is a feeling they would be hard to face in this tournament. Every New Zealand team always bats deep but if their special players have a big competition then they could easily carry them to something special. New Zealand are still not really being talked about as champions and that will suit them just fine.
Betting
I’m not that keen on opposing Kane Williamson in the New Zealand batter market, especially when you consider that he played in the IPL and none of the other senior batters apart from Glenn Phillips did so not only is he the class act of this team but he has the advantage of competitive reps as well. That makes me look elsewhere and although a couple of the bowlers have also been involved in the IPL, they weren’t in the greatest form which might open the door for another.
That is Ish Sodhi, who for a normal leg spinner has a very good record in this format of the game. He has 73 wickets in 57 T20Is and takes his wickets in this format at every 16.1 balls which is pretty good. He will be up against some good players of spin but if the seamers swing the ball and prove hard to get away then teams are going to have to go after someone. That someone might be Sodhi but he has been there and done it in that regard. He feels a bit price at 9/2.
