The final round of matches in the UEFA Nations League group campaign begins on Sunday on a day where so many groups have promotion, relegation and seeding issues at stake on a big afternoon and evening around Europe.
We have action in three of the four leagues on Sunday with some big nations looking for special things or momentum to take into the World Cup with them. That should guarantee some competitive football.
League A
Two groups conclude in the top league on Sunday with Group 1 one of those and there is plenty at stake in the two matches on show. Croatia are now in control of their own destiny. They go away to Austria knowing that if they win they will be in the semi-final. Austria will be relegated if they lose though. The other match sees Denmark hosting France with the Danes knowing if Croatia slip up a win for them will send them into the semi-finals. Defeat for France opens the door for Austria to relegate them but a win will ensure they remain with the big boys. A4 is the other group on show on Sunday where a place in the semi-final is at stake when the Netherlands host Belgium. Just a draw is needed for the home side to progress while Belgium need to win by two clear goals. Relegation is also on the line as well. Wales host Poland knowing they have to win to stay up. Anything else and Poland will relegate them.

League C
Two groups finish off in League C as well. The first to do so is Group 3 where we already know who will be promoted and relegated so they are both dead rubbers. Azerbaijan host the promoted Kazakhstan in one game while Slovakia take on Belarus in the other one. Things are also sorted out in Group 3 too where Turkey will be promoted back to League B. They finish their campaign away to Faroe Islands while Luxembourg take on relegated Lithuania.
League D
Group 1 of the bottom tier concludes on Sunday and it does so in the first of the three kick off times. It is a big afternoon for Latvia who will be looking to secure top spot when they make the trip to Andorra looking for a win which will guarantee their promotion. Moldova will pip them to promotion if the Latvians are beaten and they beat Liechtenstein and will also so do if Latvia draw as long as they win by five goals so there is plenty at stake to kick the day off.
Betting
I’ll go with the one bet on Sunday evening where I like the idea of goals in the match between the Netherlands and Belgium. There were certainly goals in the reverse meeting between the two when the Netherlands rocked up and won 4-1 in Belgium and just the way this match is set up and the fact that Belgium have to go on the offensive makes me think the chances will flow again here. They might well flow at both ends as well.
Belgium know that they have to win this match but it isn’t like any win is good for them. They have to win by two goals so they have no other choice but to attack which will suit the Dutch very nicely on the counter. There is no reason for Belgium to sit back and play out the group because they are perfectly safe so this is a chance for their attacking players to prove themselves ahead of the World Cup. I’m not convinced the Dutch are good enough to sit back and contain their visitors here so they should be looking to do their side of things at the other end of the pitch and when you put that all together we should see a 2.75 goal line covered.
