The UEFA Nations League continues on Tuesday evening when more groups play their second fixtures as we approach the halfway mark of the current international break. In doing so this is a big evening for a number of teams.
They include England and Germany who headline the card on Tuesday evening but in the other five matches there are teams who will be looking to enhance their current status in the competition so a decent night of football is expected.
League A
It is the second night of action in the big group of A3 and we have one of the bigger international fixtures there is on show as Germany welcome England to the Allianz Arena. Both these sides slipped up in their opening game on Saturday and will be eager not to do that again which will add to the competitiveness of the encounter. The other match in this group sees the European champions Italy welcoming Hungary, who were the only winners when the first set of games were played out at the weekend.
League B
The attention at the second level on Tuesday evening comes from section B3 which looks like it is going to be a competitive section throughout the competition. The first of the two matches to kick off is the one between Finland and Montenegro, the latter of whom had a good win to open their campaign on Saturday. The other match sees Bosnia and Herzegovina taking on a Romania outfit who will be eager to make up for their loss on Saturday.

League C
It is section C1 where the action comes from in the third level of the competition on Tuesday evening. Turkey will be expected to dominate this group and they got off to a good start on Saturday with a thumping 4-0 victory. They now head to Lithuania looking to back up that success. Luxembourg were the other winners in the first round of games and they can make it back-to-back wins if they can come out on top when they travel to take on the Faroe Islands.
Betting
I mentioned a few times in the last UEFA Nations League competition that Luxembourg are a side on the upgrade and there were shades of that in the first set of games when they beat Lithuania. I don’t think that is the biggest result known to man but what it does do is highlight that away wins over Azerbaijan and Republic of Ireland in World Cup qualifying and over Montenegro in the last Nations League campaign were no flukes.
They now go to the Faroe Islands who were given a right good going over by Turkey on Saturday and who are missing a couple of key players. Clearly they are not a nation who can afford to be without their better players so I see a Luxembourg win here. Luxembourg are getting a pool of players who are playing in top divisions around the continent with squad members in the Bundesliga, Eredivisie and top flights in Bulgaria, Austria and Russia among others while Danel Sinani, their best player, has just enjoyed a successful season in the Championship. The Faroe Islands’ only wins in the last 18 months have been against Liechtenstein and Moldova who are in the level below this in the Nations League. Luxembourg have a good chance to open up with a second success here.
