UEFA Nations League 2024-25 – Tuesday 15th October Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The latest international break concludes as far as the UEFA Nations League is concerned on Tuesday evening when the groups which are yet to play for the second time this week do so on an evening where more valuable points are at stake.

This is a night where the defending champions Spain continue their title defence while potential winners Portugal and Croatia are also on show. Scotland and Northern Ireland carry the Home Nations interest through the evening.

League A

We have two groups on show in League A on Tuesday evening with the first of them being Group 1 where Portugal will look to secure their spot in the quarter final of the competition. They will do that if they can better the Poland result. Portugal head to rock bottom Scotland while Poland take on a Croatia side who themselves will as good as secure their last eight spot with a win. Group 4 is the other section on show over the course of the night where the defending champions Spain will look to maintain top spot when they welcome a Serbia side who are chasing a quarter final berth. Denmark are currently in control of the second place in the table though and they will head to a Switzerland side who could be relegated if they lose.

League C

The other action on Tuesday evening comes from League C where we have another two groups playing out their fourth set of matches. Group 2 is the one which will get the evening underway when bottom host top as Lithuania welcome Romania to Kaunas. Romania will remain on course for promotion with a win while Lithuania look destined for the relegation playoff. The other match in this group comes later in the evening when Kosovo host Cyprus. The competitive Group 3 is the other group on show where three teams are separated by just one point going into the evening. Belarus are in top spot and they have every chance of staying there if they can win at home to Luxembourg. Third host second in the other game when Northern Ireland welcome Bulgaria to Belfast.

Betting

There really isn’t a huge amount that I like over the course of the evening with favourites a little shorter than I would like and outsiders probably not as guaranteed to be a problem for their opponent as I would want them to be. I’ve had a good look at the various markets on offer though and there is one which appeals and that comes in the huge game for Scotland when they host a Portugal side who are getting the job done despite not always convincing.

The bet I like is for Scott McTominay to have a shot on target at even money. He didn’t hit the target from either of his two shots in Croatia at the weekend but he twice hit the target in each game in the last international break, scoring in both matches, and still played in the 10 role in Croatia on Saturday. Portugal went with a midfield three of Bernardo Silva, Ruben Neves and Bruno Fernandes on Saturday and there isn’t a lot of defensive thinking in that trio so McTominay should find plenty of space when he gets the ball. He has been in brilliant form for his country for well over a year now and should be backed to hit the target once again.
