World Cup Qualifying – Friday 11th November European Matches Betting Preview

The World Cup Qualifiers return in Europe on Friday night with a huge match at Wembley which dominates proceedings. This is the fourth set of fixtures in the qualification event for the World Cup in Russia in two years time and everyone in action will be aiming to enhance their chances of making it to the big show.

As ever three groups are played out on Friday night although there is an extra game as France have rescheduled their match from Sunday to Friday so in all there are 10 matches on the evening.

Group C

Northern Ireland are back in action on Friday night. They host Azerbaijan in Belfast in a match they will be expected to win but which could be trickier than they would want it to be. In the other matches in the group Czech Republic face Norway and the defending champions Germany head to San Marino in what will be a mismatch.

Group E

Two Euro2016 finalists meet in the main match in this group when Romania meet Poland in a key fixture for both sides. There is an early kick off as Armenia host Montenegro while Denmark will look to stay on track for something big next year when they welcome Kazakhstan.

Group F

This is where the big clash between England and Scotland takes place. The auld enemies meet in competitive play for the first time since 1999 when Scotland went to Wembley and won but it was England who qualified from that playoff tie. The other matches in the group see Malta hosting Slovenia and Slovakia hosting Lithuania.

France vs Sweden

There is also the clash between France and Sweden which has been switched to this card from Sunday. They are the top two in the group so the winners of the match will be in a very strong position to qualify.

Betting

I think this is a tricky night in terms of match betting but that is only because I don’t see many goals anywhere so I’m going to try and take advantage of some different markets to make the profit on Friday night. Two of my three bets are in the under 2.5 goals betting.

The first of those comes at Wembley where I’m not expecting a classic. There’s no way Scotland are going to go out and attack England. All the talk out of their side and squad have been how they would take a draw happily and that tells us how they’ll play. We’ve seen England struggle to break sides down all year so while I expect England to win I’m not expecting an avalanche of goals.

The other game I’m expecting to be low scoring is the France vs Sweden one. France don’t score the number of goals that they should do with the talent they have at their disposal and when Sweden only score once against Luxembourg you know they are struggling for goals. Both sides are proficient enough defensively though so that has a real under 2.5 feel to it.

The other bet I like is for Northern Ireland to win to nil. In days gone by this could be a banana skin for Northern Ireland and it might be that Azerbaijan frustrate them for long periods but in the end I expect the Irish pressure to tell in a match they all know they have to win if they are to get anywhere near Russia in two summers time. NI don’t concede many so if they find the net once that could well be enough.
