The World Cup Qualifiers for the European Region continues on Saturday evening as three more groups move a step nearer to being completed and the picture of who will head to Russia comes a little clearer.
We have two kick off times on Saturday to make keeping track of things a little easier and with Wales and the Republic of Ireland providing plenty of home interest this should be a card that gets plenty of attention.
Group D
There are two early matches in this group with Austria hosting Republic of Ireland in the main one of the two. Georgia welcome Moldova in the other match while the third game in the group which kicks off later in the evening sees Wales taking on the early pace setters Serbia.
Group G
There are some mismatches on paper in this group with Italy heading to Liechtenstein in a match they should run up a cricket score in. Spain host Macedonia in a match they should cruise to victory in while in the other game in the group Albania host Israel in a potentially fiery encounter.
Group I
This is another group with split kick off times. The main match of the two early ones is the game between the Euro2016 quarter finalists Croatia and Iceland. Turkey host Kosovo in the other early match. Later on Ukraine welcome Finland with the home side looking to go above whoever has lost the main match earlier in the night.
Betting
This is a tricky looking card to me. I’m not keen on taking handicaps here. Italy aren’t the best in qualifying and Spain are without Diego Costa and have a pretty big handicap to overcome. The other matches all look iffy apart from one which I like.
That is the Wales vs Serbia match. Serbia have struggled in the last campaign or two but they are not struggling in this one. Already in the group they have seen off Austria and were 10 minutes away from a win over the Republic of Ireland too but with eight goals in their three matches they are ticking along nicely again.
Wales are scoring more goals in this campaign than we are used to but they are conceding them too so the even money on both sides scoring looks well worth a punt to me. Wales have more of their attacking players back here while Serbia are flying. This should be a good game and should see both sides scoring.
