All four quarter finals at the World Championship will conclude on a wild Wednesday where eight will become four and we will find out the identity of the four players who will move forward to the one-table setup inside the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.
We have one of the quarter finals which is something of a runaway and then the other three are all very nicely poised for what should be a really dramatic day of snooker over the course of the three sessions on Wednesday.
Day 11 Recap
All four quarter finals got underway on Tuesday with two of them playing two sessions. They saw Ronnie O’Sullivan ease into an 11-5 lead over Stephen Maguire while Yan Bingtao came from 6-2 behind after the first session to level up at 8-8 against Mark Williams ahead of their final session on Wednesday afternoon. The other two quarter finals are at the end of the first session and see Judd Trump leading Stuart Bingham 5-3 and John Higgins ahead of Jack Lisowski by the same score ahead of a busy day for those four players.

In Play Betting
As with Monday we only have the in play stuff to go at and we can’t really get anything out of the Ronnie O’Sullivan vs Stephen Maguire match because of the margin between the two. Maguire hasn’t given up in that though so perhaps he’ll prolong it a bit longer. I’m already invested in the match between Yan Bingtao and Mark Williams having backed the latter outright although that could be going all the way. I’m also invested in the Stuart Bingham and Judd Trump match having advised a handicap bet on Tuesday which is still in the mix.
That leaves the other match to get stuck into. I expected Jack Lisowski to make a slow start against John Higgins and have already won on Higgins to win the first session but the 7/2 on Lisowski to win has reeled me in here. He’ll have had an extra night sleep and will feel much fresher heading into a bumper day on Wednesday as opposed to Tuesday where he backed up a late finish on Monday and I daresay would hardly have slept with all the adrenalin rushing through his body.
This match finishes with the afternoon and evening session action so the longer it goes the better the chance of the younger man you would think. We’ve already seen Higgins fade the longer a number of two session finals have gone on this season and already this week he struggled to get over the line when ahead in matches. We saw that Lisowski can hold his nerve in tight matches but the closer this gets, especially if Higgins goes in front and throws a lead away, the harder it might be for him to get over the line despite all his experience. This has the potential to be a long day for these two but that might benefit Lisowski who is 15 years younger than his opponent. Lisowski was awful on Tuesday and came out 5-3. If he has any of the form he took Robertson on with then he has enough in his favour to turn this around at a nice price.
