The Premier League is back after two weeks off for the international break on Saturday and it returns with eight fixtures in what is a rare busy day in the top flight. With Christmas fast approaching this is the time for sides to hit form and that is unlikely to be lost on the 16 teams in action.
Early Kick Off
The big match of the afternoon comes right at the start as the first North London Derby of the season takes place at the Emirates Stadium when Arsenal host Tottenham. With Spurs starting to overtake Arsenal in all ways this feels like a big match for the Gunners. Unlike some derbies in this division this one usually lives up to the hype which makes it worth a watch.
3pm Matches
We have as many as six matches in the usual kick off time this week. Burnley play host to Swansea in one of those while Bournemouth host new boys Huddersfield at the Vitality Stadium. Leicester City host the leaders Manchester City at the King Power Stadium with a huge game at the bottom of the table taking place when Crystal Palace entertain Everton.
The two remaining matches sees Liverpool hosting Southampton and a certain Virgil van Dijk while West Brom and their under pressure manager Tony Pulis go up against the champions Chelsea.
Late Game
The action all ends at Old Trafford where a certain Zlatan Ibrahimovic will make his Manchester United return. He isn’t the only star returning for United with Paul Pogba doing likewise. They take on a Newcastle side who will want some points after back-to-back defeats heading into the international break.

Betting
I’m going to return with two bets over the course of Saturday. The first comes in the form of a Burnley side who I have loved backing at home since their return to the Premier League and I’m more than happy to do so against Swansea. Burnley have just one defeat at home this season which was in their first game while Swansea’s only away win came at Crystal Palace which is not saying a lot. Burnley are the better side of these two, and comfortably so, and they look a good bet here.
Generally when Leicester City and Manchester City meet there are goals and I see no reason why that is not going to be the case on Saturday. Man City are looking fantastic right now and can blow any side away as we’ve already seen but Leicester have goals in them too. Neither of these sides completely convince me defensively so I’m expecting the goals to flow here.
