After the last break for the FA Cup the Premier League is back again this week although with the final of the Carabao Cup we have a reduced schedule over the round of matches. We begin with seven matches on Saturday with the battle to avoid the drop heavily in focus.
As ever on a Saturday we have three kick off times to enjoy and get stuck into and with some decent match ups on show we should be in for a fairly good day of football leading into a special Sunday.
Early Kick Off
We begin at the King Power Stadium where Stoke City will look to climb out of the relegation zone when they go up against a Leicester side who only need to avoid defeat to claim seventh spot which barring a complete collapse from Arsenal is as high as they are going to get this season. Stoke really need the win here.
3pm Matches
Newcastle make the long trip to Bournemouth looking for the points that will move them further away from the relegation zone while there is a huge clash at the Amex Stadium as Brighton host Swansea. Both sides are within two points of the relegation zone so the need for a victory is huge.
Southampton are in the relegation zone but they could escape it if they can pick up a result away to Burnley at Turf Moor while West Ham will look to move further clear of danger when they make the lengthy trip to Anfield to go up against Liverpool. The match of the day could well be the one at The Hawthorns between bottom placed West Brom and Huddersfield who are a place above the drop zone.
Late Game
The action finishes for the day at Vicarage Road where Watford host Everton in what looks like a mid-table match but a poor run of form for either could yet lead the losers back into the danger mix. All eyes will be on Sam Allardyce to see if he can pick up a win which would get some of the pressure off the visitors.

Betting
I’m going to go with one bet in these matches. West Brom’s performances had shown signs of improvement prior to the FA Cup break but then came the ridiculous incident in Spain and the fall out from it and then the defeat in the cup last week and all of a sudden they look like a side sliding down the pole to relegation at a brisk rate.
Huddersfield are nothing special this season and may ultimately go down themselves but they will know how big this match is and have had two weeks to prepare for it. They go into the game off the back of a thumping win over Bournemouth last time out and given the trials and tribulations of the Baggies I’ve got to think the Terriers can pick up a result of some kind here.
