The opening weekend of the Premier League season concludes with the traditional Super Sunday double header with two title challengers looking to get off to fast starts in their first matches of the campaign.
We have already seen Liverpool and Chelsea drop points this weekend while Arsenal survived an enormous scare and now it is time to see what Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have in them.

Newcastle vs Tottenham
Newcastle return to the Premier League with a clash against the runners up from last season Tottenham Hotspur in front of what is sure to be a typically passionate crowd. Both sides will be looking to get off to quick starts here.
It is well known that Rafael Benitez has been frustrated with the transfer business his side have managed in this window but at least they have signed someone unlike Spurs who haven’t made any additions to their ranks.
We’ve seen plenty of high scoring matches this weekend and I fancy this will be another one. Newcastle have nothing to lose and will be implored by their crowd to have a go while Spurs have real quality who could pick Newcastle off almost at will so I like over 2.5 goals here.
Man Utd vs West Ham
All eyes will be on Old Trafford to see how Jose Mourinho’s second season in charge of Man Utd begins. It will begin with them taking on a West Ham side who will be looking to be more consistent this term.
This should be a good test for United. If they are the real deal this season then this is a match they should win but it could be a trappy one if they start slowly or sluggishly. I’ve no real desire to bet on this match especially having taken United to win the league so I’ll kick back and assess their form before getting involved on them again.
