2017-18 Premier League – Sunday 26th November Matches Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend concludes with the final three matches of the latest round of games on Sunday afternoon on a day where we see the league leaders in action as well as a number of sides who are looking to increase their position in the table ahead of the midweek matches.

We have two matches in the usual Super Sunday set of games with one match which is not on TV in the UK. We’ll cover the TV games first and then the other match.

Southampton vs Everton

Two sides at the wrong end of the table and looking over their shoulders towards the drop zone meet in the opening match of the afternoon when Southampton host Everton at St Mary’s Stadium.

Whichever side can pick up the three points will ease themselves away from immediate danger but whoever loses will pile the pressure on themselves heading towards the Christmas period which is fast approaching.

Both sides enter this match with problems. Southampton don’t score enough goals and rarely convince at home while Everton look in a bit of disarray and come in off the back of a drubbing in the Europa League on Thursday night. I can’t be backing Southampton at odds on but I’ve no interest in Everton so I’ll leave this alone.

Huddersfield vs Man City

All eyes will be on Yorkshire on Sunday afternoon to see if Manchester City can restore their eight point lead at the top of the Premier League table when they face a Huddersfield side who have already taken care of one Manchester side this season and will be aiming for a double.

This will be a tough match for the home side. City look pretty rampant right now and while Huddersfield are well organised and tough to break down we saw Tottenham open them up at will here earlier in the campaign.

They are probably not a side to bet against though Huddersfield. Their home form and their defensive record deserves to be respected enough to think a -2 handicap on City is a little large but at the same time it is a huge risk to go against City in any form right now.

Burnley vs Arsenal

It might be that the best match of the day comes away from the Sky Sports cameras when Burnley host Arsenal at Turf Moor. Burnley are a really underrated side who fear nobody while Arsenal are trying to prove they can do it at places like this but don’t convince anyone fully.

The progression of Burnley has been such that they could move into the top four with a win here. Arsenal could also move into the top four should they win so there is plenty to play for going into this match.

I’ve a feeling Burnley will get something out of this match but the odds look about right to me. I might regret not taking them but we’ve a midweek list and another weekend one to come so I don’t want to be on anything I’m not completely sure about. I’ll sit this out too.
