After one match in Sky Bet League 2 on Friday night we are left with 11 scheduled fixtures in the division on Saturday although with the cold snap that is currently hitting the country the odd postponement can’t be ruled out.
The busy Christmas period is looming large so all 22 sides potentially in action will be looking for a confidence boosting victory to take into that which will ensure we get some competitive games.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows:
Barnet v Morecambe
Cambridge United v Newport County
Carlisle United v Port Vale
Coventry City v Cheltenham Town
Crewe Alexandra v Crawley Town
Exeter City v Stevenage
Forest Green Rovers v Luton Town
Lincoln City v Accrington Stanley
Mansfield Town v Yeovil Town
Notts County v Grimsby Town
Wycombe Wanderers v Chesterfield
Big Matches
The league leaders Luton Town make the trip to Gloucestershire to take on Forest Green Rovers while second placed Notts County welcome Grimsby Town to Meadow Lane. Accrington in third head to Lincoln in what is probably the match of the day while Exeter will be looking to pick up a win when they entertain Stevenage.
Best of the Rest
Wycombe aren’t going too badly and they host an improved Chesterfield side while Mansfield will be looking to begin another good run of form when they welcome Yeovil to the One Call Stadium. Barnet host Morecambe in a match between two sides at the wrong end of the table while Cambridge and Newport will be looking for a win which could see them push towards the play-offs.

Betting
I’m going with two bets on Saturday. The first comes on Mansfield who host a Yeovil side who are terrible away from home and having played in the FA Cup in midweek after a pretty hectic spell there might not be a whole lot left for the Glovers to give. I would imagine Mansfield will be smarting after their defeat at Crawley last weekend which ended a strong run of form. Only Swindon have won at Mansfield who are generally decent on their own patch and I expect them to get back to winning ways with a comfortable win here.
Luton saw a winning run come to an end last week when they drew with Notts County in a match which was tactically far too good for this level but I expect them to get back to winning ways against a Forest Green side who are depleted through injuries and who could have done without going to extra time in midweek. As Forest Green are starting to miss players through injury and suspensions Luton are beginning to get big players such as James Collins and Harry Cornick back. The pitch at the New Lawn is generally good which will help Luton and I expect them to win here and as we’ve seen in the past if they go in front early they are capable of winning very big.
