World Cup Qualifying – Saturday 25th March European Matches Betting Preview

Three more groups are back in action in the World Cup qualifiers on Saturday evening as the race for Russia begins to get serious. Friday saw emphatic wins for Italy and Spain and on Saturday it is the turn of France, Portugal and Belgium to show off their talents once again.

Group A

This group is one of the early starters as it begins with Sweden playing host to Belarus. The two bigger matches in the group sees Bulgaria welcoming the Netherlands and France heading to Luxembourg for what should be a case of how many they want to win by.

Group B

All eyes will be on the European champions Portugal on Saturday evening. They host Hungary in the only late fixture in the group. Prior to that Andorra host the Faroe Islands in a battle of the minnows while Latvia face the daunting task of heading to Switzerland.

Group H

There are two early matches in this group too as Bosnia-Herzegovina get the action underway when they host Gibraltar while Cyprus meet Estonia. Later in the evening the top two meet when Belgium take on an improving Greece side.

Betting

I’m going with two bets across this card. The first bet comes in the earlier matches where I’m really surprised that the Faroe Islands aren’t a lot shorter than they are against Andorra. The Faroes are no longer the also rans they used to be. Indeed in this qualifying campaign they have already beaten Latvia and drawn with Hungary which are good form guides.

Surprisingly we can get a -0.75AH line on the Faroes and I think that is worth taking. I don’t expect them to go mad on Andorra but I do expect them to win and any win nails us a profit while a more comfortable one ensures we scoop the full amount.

The other bet comes on a Belgium side who have been in sensational form in this qualifying campaign. They have scored 14 goals in their last two matches and while the opposite has been modest in that time you can’t argue with the record. I see no reason why those goals will dry up now either.

Greece are much better in this campaign than they were for the Euros but they have one or two issues defensively which won’t help them here and I’m not sure they’ll get much joy at the other end. This looks like one of those matches Belgium can set their stall out to go after the Greeks even without Hazard and all but wrap up the group with a comfortable win.
