We are into the last 10 matches in the Sky Bet League 2 season which means from here on in every point is vital for those chasing something between now and the end of the campaign which makes the next set of matches on Saturday very important.
There is a full round of fixtures which includes a couple of local derbies and by the end of the day we might have a clearer picture of how the remainder of the season is going to play out as we head into Easter.
Saturday’s fixtures are as follows: (3pm unless stated)
Lincoln City v Grimsby Town (1pm)
Notts County v Mansfield Town (1pm)
Accrington Stanley v Forest Green Rovers
Barnet v Wycombe Wanderers
Cambridge United v Swindon Town
Carlisle United v Crawley Town
Cheltenham Town v Chesterfield
Colchester United v Yeovil Town
Crewe Alexandra v Coventry City
Morecambe v Exeter City
Newport County v Luton Town
Port Vale v Stevenage
Big Matches
The big match of the day comes from Meadow Lane when local rivals Notts County and Mansfield Town meet in an early kick off. The new leaders Accrington Stanley host lowly Forest Green Rovers while any slip from them will allow Luton the chance to regain top spot when they head to Wales to take on Newport County. Fourth placed Wycombe Wanderers head to Barnet in a match which could last a lot longer than the scheduled 90 minutes.
Best of the Rest
Exeter have games in hand and are only five points off the automatic promotion scene and they head to Morecambe looking to keep up their charge. Coventry in seventh made their way into the play-offs when they drew with Luton on Tuesday night and a win at Crewe would consolidate that while Lincoln City may have their biggest crowd of the season when they host local rivals Grimsby Town. Bottom of the table Chesterfield head to Cheltenham.

Betting
I’m going to go with two bets on Saturday and they are both home sides against lowly opponents. Cheltenham have been in decent form in a tricky run of matches in recent times and that can serve them well when they host bottom of the pile Chesterfield who are the worst side in the division away from home. Cheltenham have held Luton and Notts County and picked up a win at Swindon in their last three matches. The last time they played a side below them in the table at home they won 5-1. This might not be 5-1 but I do expect a poor Chesterfield side to be beaten.
Earlier in the afternoon I can’t help but think things will be tough for Grimsby Town. They are in freefall at the minute and although they held Port Vale last weekend they are now 16 matches without a win and going to Sincil Bank where only three sides have left with maximum points is not going to be an easy task. Grimsby are without a host of players for this one while Lincoln have a wide number of options. After a blip around the time they made it to Wembley, Lincoln look to have their focus back and in front of a large crowd they can pick up another win over the Mariners.
