Big Matches
The leaders Luton head to lowly Crawley looking to continue what is fast becoming a trail of destruction left behind them in this division. Second placed Notts County travel to Carlisle United while Exeter will be looking to make up for their midweek demise when they host an improving Port Vale side. Wycombe in fourth head to Wiltshire to take on Swindon.
Best of the Rest
Accrington will look to make up for their late heartache at Stevenage when they head to Crewe while Newport play host to an underperforming Mansfield Town. Two sides at the wrong end of the table meet when Barnet host Yeovil at The Hive while Forest Green will look to build on a good win at Coventry when they head to Stevenage. Coventry will look to make up for that loss when they take on Colchester at the Ricoh.
Betting
After a nightmare in midweek I’m sticking with bets in a couple of matches here, one of which I’m going to go for two in. That is the game involving my own side Luton who fresh from 11 goals in two matches head to the side with the worst home record in the division in Crawley and could be set to pile up the goals once again.
Amazingly Luton have had 15 different scorers this season so far so even if Harry Kewell can do what few others have done and come up with a plan to combat James Collins and Danny Hylton the chances are that someone else is going to get them. Crawley have lost six of seven at home this season and have only found the net once in their last four at Broadfield Stadium. Luton have seven wins and a draw from eight and are purring nicely. They look a good price to win the game and just as good value to win by two or more.
I’m going to take a chance on Colchester to continue Coventry’s miserable run going. Coventry came up short against Forest Green in midweek which was their third straight game without a goal. Clearly not everything is rosy in the Ricoh camp judging by the scenes with the fan wandering on and having enough on Tuesday night. Colchester took an age to get going this season but they have lost just one of their last five and picked up a good win at Newport in midweek. Colchester are finding the net nicely now whereas Coventry have failed to score six times already. As we saw in midweek one may be enough for Colchester to win this but they might not even need that to avoid defeat.
