The European Masters snooker competition has reached the last 16 stage with the entire round being played over two more sessions in Lommel on Thursday. Each match is on either the TV table or the streamed one so the event goes up a notch in profile from here on in.
The tournament has seen some serious shocks throughout its duration but despite that a number of big names have made it through to this stage and they should combine for some decent action over the course of Thursday.
Afternoon Session
The main table action will begin with Neil Robertson facing Mark Williams in what should be a classic showdown. Two surprise packages meet on the other table when Billy Joe Castle takes on Cao Yupeng in what is a massive chance for both men. The second round of matches will have Judd Trump back on the TV table. He plays Dave Gilbert while on the streamed table Mark Allen meets Ben Woollaston.
Evening Session
The home favourite Luca Brecel will continue his quest for the title in front of his own people when he faces the former world champion Stuart Bingham on the main table. Zhou Yuelong plays Peter Lines on the other table. Mark Selby will follow them when he takes on Jack Lisowski in an appealing match while the streamed table will have the battle between Mark Davis and Anthony McGill.

Betting
This is a tough day to bet on in my eyes. There aren’t many favourites I want to take on but then there are not many outsiders that I think will get a good going over. After three winners from three on Wednesday and with three outright bets still running I’m going to rein myself in and take just one.
Mark Davis overcame a couple of tricky tests in the last two matches when he saw off Matt Selt and John Higgins. The latter win was particularly strong with him seeing off the Scot 4-1 and looking really good in doing so. He now faces an Anthony McGill who he has a decent record against and who has had a largely routine route through. McGill has been going along nicely in recent weeks but Davis has won their last four meetings and he can win this one too.
