The second matches in Group B of the Gold Cup take place on Wednesday night into the early hours of Thursday morning UK time when the tournament heads to Tampa Bay for the latest double header of action.
Among the sides on show in Tampa are the hosts USA who will be looking to kick on after their draw with Panama at the weekend. Both USA and Panama have the chance to control their own destinies in this double header.

Panama vs Nicaragua
It is Panama who get the chance to lay the first marker down when they take on the perceived whipping boys of the group in Nicaragua. Neither side won their opening match so this one takes on extra importance.
Panama did at least pick up a point in their opening match and they had claims for more than that in what was a pretty good performance against the hosts USA. Nicaragua were outplayed by Martinique from start to finish and looked a bit of a shambles at the back.
I’m expecting an open match here. Nicaragua have no choice but to go for it and Panama can really build on their draw with USA. I think the even money on over 2.5 goals is worthy of financial investment.
USA vs Martinique
Two unbeaten sides meet in the second match of the night with the Tampa crowd getting a rare treat to see their men’s side in action against a Martinique side who were the only winners in the first round of matches.
You would think there would be an improvement in the hosts USA in this match. They might not need one to win this but they certainly will if they are to go all the way. It will be interesting to see how Martinique go about their business. Two draws against the big guns sees them into the quarter final. Do they take that or push for more?
USA were so poor in the first match that there is nothing I like in this one so I’ll sit this one out and take in the tactics of Martinique ahead of the final set of matches rather than chance anything here.
