The International Darts Open will get played out to a close on Sunday with the last 16 right through to the final taking place on a really busy day. As ever the man who wins the title will have won four matches in an action packed day.
We saw plenty of shocks on Saturday so a tournament that was wide open to begin with is arguably even more so now which will make for an interesting last 16. As ever that is the only round we will be able to preview due to time restrictions.
First Four Matches
It is the number one seed who has the honour of leading us off on Sunday. That is Peter Wright and he faces Ronny Huybrechts before Jelle Klaasen takes on Peter Jacques. The third match of the afternoon sees Dave Chisnall taking on Dennis Nilsson with the final match prior to the interval being between Ron Meulenkamp and Josh Payne.
Last Four Matches
There are some tasty matches in the second half of the afternoon. They begin with last week’s Champions League winner Mensur Suljovic playing Gerwyn Price before Kim Huybrechts meets Ian White in arguably the tie of the round. The final two matches see Alan Norris meeting Joe Cullen and then Simon Whitlock taking on Mervyn King.

Betting
It wasn’t my day on Saturday so I am not going to go too mad on Sunday but I do believe there is one player who should be backed to come through. That is Josh Payne who takes on Ron Meulenkamp.
Credit must go to Meulenkamp for knocking off Michael Smith in the previous round but the Bully Boy has just had a kid so I can’t believe for one minute that his mind was fully on the job. That is not to take anything away from the Dutchman but I think he will face a more focused opponent here.
Payne saw off the improving Rob Cross in the previous round and did so with a bit in hand despite a load of missed doubles. If he can sort out his form on the outer bull then I think he’ll have the beating of the limited Dutchie here.
Tips
Back J.Payne to beat R.Meulenkamp for a 4/10 stake at 1.73 with Betfred
