We are into the last week of the group stage of the NatWest T20 Blast and it continues with five matches on a relatively busy Sunday and a rare Sunday where we have a TV match to enjoy too.
With both group tables so very tight heading into the last week of the regular season each match carries plenty of significance on Sunday so it should be an exciting day of cricket.
North Group
There are two matches in the North Group on Sunday afternoon and they are both significant for the visitors. Birmingham Bears head up to Durham knowing they will move back into the top four with a win but a defeat will end their competition while Nottinghamshire go to already eliminated Worcestershire safe in the knowledge that a win for them will secure a quarter final spot.
South Group
The TV match comes in the South Group on Sunday when Surrey entertain Sussex in a huge clash for both sides. It is must win for Surrey but Sussex will become sitting ducks in the race for the top four if they lost. High flying Glamorgan head to Taunton to take on fourth placed Somerset while the other match sees Gloucestershire hosting Essex in another big game.

Betting
There are three bets for me on Sunday of which two come in the TV game. I have to admit I am tempted to back Sussex given the brutal beating they handed out against Surrey in the reverse fixture but since then they have thrown one match away and tried to throw another one away so I’ll err on the side of caution.
I do like a performance in the game though and that comes in the form of Tom Curran who has a very low looking line of 30.5pts. He has shown some decent form with the bat and the ball in recent matches and on his home ground in front of a big crowd and a TV audience I expect a big performance from him, one which will yield at least 31pts if not more.
I also think Ollie Pope is worth a chance in the top Surrey batsman market. He top scored for Surrey last time out and his last four innings have seen him score 31, 34, 26 and 46 so he is in good nick and if the Sussex opening bowlers can get rid of the top order the youngster could easily be the one to pick up the pieces.
The other bet I like comes in the form of Glamorgan who I am prepared to allow their defeat to Hampshire the other night as a rare bad performance. They take on a Somerset side who are looking to back up a poor performance on Saturday less than 24hrs later which I keep maintaining is never an easy thing to do especially for a side who don’t have a massive squad. The Hampshire game aside Glamorgan have been excellent in this tournament and at odds against they look a good bet.
