2017 NFL – Atlanta Falcons vs Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

Two sides with winning records conclude the week of NFL action when the Atlanta Falcons head to the Seattle Seahawks for the Monday Night Football. These are two of the better sides in the NFC and could both still be around in the postseason so we should be in for a good contest.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks go into this match with a 6-3 record for the season after the win over Arizona last week but they now know things are going to get really difficult for them with the injuries they picked up last week. Richard Sherman was ruled out for the season straight after that win and Kam Chancellor has since followed suit supposedly.

That is likely to see the Seahawks going after the quarterback a lot more which in turn brings about a risk so Russell Wilson will need to be at his best to get the job done here. The issue they have with that is that their o-line has barely offered any protection to Wilson all season so it will be interesting to see how the Seahawks fare here.

Atlanta Falcons

The Super Bowl losers from last year have begun this term with a winning record. Often at this stage of the season 5-4 is acceptable but when someone in the division is already 8-2 for the campaign it is made to look bad. If the Falcons are to reel the Saints in over the rest of the season you would think they need to pick up the win here.

If they are to win this match then they will need to get their powerful offense living up to their tag. That side of the ball will be without running back Devonta Freeman so Tevin Coleman will get the majority of the carries. With no Sherman in the back field you would expect Julio Jones to have a bigger night than he might have.

Betting

I initially had this down as a really close match and maybe it still will be given that it is in Seattle where the crowd have a big impact on proceedings but with the injuries to Sherman and Chancellor I have to be with the Atlanta Falcons here.

Their pass rush is going to keep the Seahawks offense under check and with all the options Ryan has at his disposal I expect him and his offensive unit to get the job done whether it is by a wide margin or a narrow one.
